Can the plate be detached from the grill? The grill plate is fixed to the grill for safety. To remove the grill plate loosen the screws of the fastening angle at the underside of the housing and pull the metal angle outwardly. When dry after cleaning, re-attach the plate by pushing the metal angles back inward and fastening the screws once again.
What surfaces can the grill be set up on? Should I protect my tablecloth by placing e.g. a wooden cutting board underneath? To avoid grease splats, the grill should not be operated on a tablecloth. The grill has a very good heat isolation. Nonetheless it should not be operated on paper table cloths since they pose a potential fire hazard. Ideally the grill is placed on a heat-resistant, stable and even, non-varnished surface.
