Gentle conservation of fruits, vegetables, herbs, mushrooms, meat, fish … As a snack, as ingredients for yoghurt and muesli, for fruit chips nibbles, as condiment for the healthy cuisine, for toppings and refinements.
Whether fruit, vegetables, herbs, meat or fish – with ROMMELSBACHER food dehydrators you can use the oldest form of food preservation in a modern way. The humidity is gently removed from the food. Vitamins, minerals and fibre are largely preserved, the result is 100 % natural, without additives or preservatives. You can easily and safely make your own snacks that are both tasty and healthy. The possibilities are endless: fruit leather, vegetable potato chips, dried fruit, dried meat, but also treats for animals or beautiful natural decorations can be conjured up. An internal fan ensures even and consistent drying at all levels. A major advantage of these appliances, for a wide range of dehydration variations, is the adjustable temperature range of 35 °C – 75 °C with timer and automatic switch-off function. Operation is via Touch Control sensors with a clear display on the front. Thanks to the double-walled housing, there is excellent thermal insulation, which in turn keeps energy consumption low. To get started right away, the right accessories are included, such as dehydration trays, dehydration grids and dehydration mats. Whether small, full-size or XXL – these appliances are perfect for a consciously healthy diet.

Is it possible to also use the appliance to make yogurt and let yeast dough rise? Yes, this is also possible. Remove unnecessary accessories from the appliance in order to have sufficient space. The appliances DA 950 and DA 1050 have a temperature range from 35 °C up to 75 °C, which can be regulated in steps of 5 °C. Make sure you choose the right temperature: Yogurt needs a temperature of approx. 42 °C - 45 °C for ripening. (Attention: Higher temperatures destroy the yogurt cultures). Yeast cultures feel most comfortable starting around approx. 35 °C.
Does the food get crispy in the appliance? Yes, you can dry the food to crispyness with the appliance. The longer you keep on dehydrating, the more moisture is extracted. As soon as all the humidity is gone, the slices of fruit and vegetables are getting crispy and herbs kind of "paper-like". The dehydration process takes different times, depending on the type, moisture content, consistency and cut of the foods.
What is the housing temperature? At maximum setting, the stainless steel housing can reach a temperature of 55 - 60 °C, depending on the site conditions.
Are recipes available? Yes, tips and precise preparation suggestions are available. You will find ideas and recipes for preparing different dehydrated foods on pages 16 - 18 of the instruction manual which is enclosed with the appliance. This does not only include tips and dehydration times for different foods (like e. g. apple rings or dried mushrooms), but also information on preparations like beef jerkey, fruit leather and soup vegetables.
Does steam escape at the top or the sides? Since the appliance is not a steamer, no visible steam clouds are escaping from the dehydrator. The air circulation inside of the appliance absorbs moisutre little by little and escapes slowly during the dehydration process beyond the edges of the appliance door.
The dehydration time required for my food differs from the description in the instruction manual resp. my food is dehydrated unevenly. What can I do? Make sure that the food to be dehydrated is cut evenly thick and spread in a single layer on the dehydration levels. Since the foods used are natural products, their texture may sometimes lead to an uneven result (e. g. some apples are juicier than others). Please note that the top level is a little cooler than the other levels due to the design and the food to be dehydrated takes a little longer here or should be re-arranged. Please also note that the dehydration times given in the operating instructions are for guidance only.
Is it possible to clean the shelves in the dishwasher without them warping? The dehyration shelves are made of solid stainless steel grid and do also not bend when cleaned in the dishwasher.
Why is the panelling in the interior made of galvanised sheet steel and not of stainless steel? The side walls of the interior are embossed to accommodate the drying racks. These embossments are produced by a so-called deep-drawing process. However, the deep-drawing of stainless steel is much more complicated than deep-drawing sheet steel. For example, stainless steel is more brittle and can crack quickly if it is strongly formed. For this reason, the inner walls of the dehydrator (as well as those of household ovens), are usually made of sheet steel. To protect against corrosion, a zinc coating is applied to the sheet steel, or a PTFE or enamel coating for higher temperature loads. The drying racks of the DA 1050, which come into direct contact with food, are made of stainless steel and comply with the specifications of the LFGB.
How loud is the appliance during operation? The operating volume is 64 dB (A) measured from a distance of 1 meter.
What is the distance between the individual dehydration levels? For the DA 1050 model, the distance is 3 cm.
